PhD Scholarship Opportunity in MEMS Biosensors

Are you interested in biosensor technology? Do you want to develop ultrasensitive transducers? Then this opportunity is for you!

Monash University and industry partner ULVAC Technologies Inc are seeking competitive candidates to apply for a PhD scholarship (AU $34,014 per annum) in biosensor research.

The Project: High-Throughput 3D Bioprinting of the Tumour Microenvironment

In order to develop fit-for-purpose sensor and biosensor solutions for the cell therapy industry, new and highly sensitive transducers solutions are required. Here, we work with ULVAC Technologies to use their expertise in microelectromechanical (MEMS) systems and piezoelectrics to develop the next generation of transducers that convert binding of biological components at minute concentrations into reliable signals even under challenging conditions such as cell culture media samples.

The Opportunity:

The ARC Training Centre for Cell & Tissue Engineering Technologies (ARC CTET) is a new Research Centre led by Monash University and QUT in collaboration with 22 industry partner organisations. The successful applicant will work closely with industry partner ULVAC Technologies Inc, a US-based semiconductor company.

The Candidate:

Applicants must have previous research and laboratory experience in related fields such as sensors or biosensors, biomaterial development, cell culture and bioassays.

Applications remain open until positions are filled.
