Tracking devices for cell product quality control

Theme 1: Engineering process efficiencies

Dr Simon Corrie

This project involves two different areas of study: the development of resonating bean microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and electrochemical pH sensor chips suitable for inclusion in cell culture flasks or storage vials that communicate with a handheld reader and provides a signal when the cell culture medium is outside a specified pH range; and the development of a temperature sensor. The different areas will be investigated by students as two different Masters projects.
