The ARC Centre for Cell and Tissue Engineering was officially launched yesterday, November 4. Centre members, university employees, industry partners and advisory committee members met virtually to hear from Senator David Van, ARC CEO Prof. Sue Thomas, Monash Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Senior Vice-President Prof. Rebekah Brown, and Centre Director and Education Leader Profs. Laurence Meagher and Gail Risbridger. Emphasis was placed on the Centre’s dedication to research and training in this sector, and in particular training industry-ready graduates for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. CTET was officially established on 13 January 2021, and since then has been negotiating with Partner Organisations to finalise projects and recruit students and postdoctoral fellows.
