This project includes studies focusing on the development and in vitro biocompatibility of biomaterials to determine long-term maintenance and growth of normal breast cells and tissues on prepared next-generation 3D printed scaffolds in static and bioreactor culture. Confocal laser microscopy will be used to capture the entire scaffold to afford detailed 3D information of adipose matrix formation. Histological and immunohistochemical evaluations undertaken will demonstrate the biocompatibility of the scaffolds with normal breast cells and tissue.
